Annie, Lily and Jenna, three of our applied sciences 2021 summer interns, share what it’s like to use their skills to design and prototype more user-friendly lateral flow tests.

The PA STEM internship programme is a hands-on experience, letting penultimate-year university students use their classroom learning to experiment with cutting-edge technology. To develop and inspire the innovators and leaders of tomorrow, our experienced scientists, engineers and technologist advise and guide, while the interns take the lead.

While other internships often just support or shadow day-to-day activities, our science and engineering interns spend 10 weeks working together to create opportunity from extraordinary real-world challenges. The result is a unique experience that unlocks the ingenuity of those just starting their careers. Redesigning lateral flow tests on PA’s STEM internship programme
