Wild cats are known to kill prey that’s even bigger than them. It is not uncommon for a wild cat to hunt and kill rabbits and other small animals of about their own size. But domesticated cats tend to have lost part of their hunting skills and generally have smaller and weaker jaws, making them less effective.

Thing is, to kill their prey, they have to land a proper bite at the throat or neck of their prey. A cat with a flat snout lacks the force to do so with larger animals. Wild cats have longer snouts compared to most domesticated cats, making them better at taking down larger prey.
